FUN + FRIENDLY GUITAR/BASS/SINGING LESSONS in Cathays, Cardiff for sale

Originally from Cardigan in West Wales, Huw Clarke a 25 year old Instrument Tutor based in Cardiff. . With over 10 years experience in Guitars and various other instruments, for the past 3 years has been the Guitar Tutor in Blaengwawr Comprehensive in Aberdare (where the ‘Stereophonics’ went to school) and has helped run Wales’s first Junior Rock Music Academy at the Atrium University in Cardiff. . Tuition can be conducted though a Grading system, but emphasis would be more about being introduced to various styles of Popular Music and being able to competently perform these styles. Lessons will focus on stylistic awareness, art of improvisation and working on self-confidence issues. First sessions begin at basic level and work upwards and never start at anything too difficult to handle. GCSE students can also be assisted with listening and appraisal skills in preparation for exams. . Can work from home in the Cathays area of the city but able to reach City Centre/Roath/Llandaf/Canton/Riverside and Rumney but location arrangements still very flexible. the House (with a car park!) is a 3 minute walk from Cathays Train station, around the corner from Cardiff University Music Department and a minute’s walk from a bus stop. . Huw is officially registered as self employed, is CRB checked, and has been a part of the Musicians Union since 2006 which covers issues such as liability insurance and the damage/theft to instruments. . Is MAC + PC literate, very prompt with e-mail replies and always available to answer a call. . Lesson footage/ notes and handouts can be sent to your inbox, as well as possible Skype meetings if unsure about anything covered in the lesson while you rehearse. For Parents’s use, every lesson will be assigned with a small task to complete at home before the next meeting, so a more fun and relaxed version of homework. . Huw is a regular Open Mic performer, will aim to get students to sing/play duo projects in front of a live audience, at the end of the day...there is no better place to be that onstage. . Have performed in Punk/Death Metal/ Restaurant Jazz/ Funk bands as well as musical orchestra’s. 6 years ago sung on stage with Peter Karrie, known as being the longest running ‘Phantom of the Opera’ in London West End and Broadway. Was the lead singer of the band ‘Neverlane’ who won the West Wales ‘Battle of the Bands’ in 2005. Most prestigious shows as a Singer/Songwriter to date were at the ‘National Arts Festival’ in South Africa in July 2012, the biggest music festival in all of Africa. . Lessons can be conducted through the medium of Welsh or English....and broken Italian or Spanish! . Sessions are charged at the following rates – 30 Minutes – £15 1 Hour – £20 1 Hour 30 mins - £25 2 Hour – £30 Combination Lessons are available.
